Alliance for Land Right South Sudan (ALRSS) commemorate the International Women’s day, which normal commemorated every year March 8, the commemoration brought together men and women in Wau, Western Bahr el Ghazal state, the day was commemorated under the theme: “Break the Bias; include women in Land Governance Institution”, the even was grace have the deputy chairperson of the Relief and Rehabilitation Commission (RRC), during the even women express their happiness on the changes that they are seeing toward gender equality, ” we women of Western Bahr Ghazal have seen changes in the gender equality but that is not enough we needs more to be done, we are happy with Alliance for Land Right and its partners special NPA who are advocating for women land right, one of participants siad”.
For his part the executive Director of Alliance for Land Right South Sudan Mr. Alfred Angok have appreciate the women of South Sudan and encourage men of South Sudan to support women in breaking the bias, that women need to be recognize in any institution and their right and representation should be recognizes as well.
For her part the Relief and Rehabilitation Commission (RRC) state advisor Mrs. Arpha Ahmen, has indeed thanks ALRSS and their partners for shining a light on women of Western Bahr el Ghazal, citing women need to be supported and given their right in the society, she calls upon government and NGOs working in South Sudan to continue doing more for women right.
