GBLA conducted engagement meeting with state land authorities in three locations in Wau WBGS. The meeting was carried out by GBLA team in Abuny-buny, Hai Bazia and New Site areas, among the participants were youths, women, Chiefs and Administrators. GBLA managed to engaged the state and local authority to survey and distributed 370 plots to the IDPs and returnees from different blocks in Wau. The Ministry of infrastructure and Wau town council agree to distribute plots and relocate some remaining IDPS who are crowded in those residential areas as the follow guidelines of COVD 19 in September and October 2020. The former advisor on land stated that, Land should be under the responsibility of both traditional chiefs, state Ministries of land and agriculture to help in technical works in surveys, demarcations and constructions. The community representatives stated that land should be for community because the land ACT 2009 stated that land belong to them and regulated by the government, so for smoother work in such areas, the staffs from the ministry of physical infrastructure must include community leaders to any committee on land distributions. GBLA also help the Community in term of facilitation and channeling their complains to the rights in institutions.
